Installing the Saga Outlook add-in depends on how your organization manages Office add-ins. If your admin has deployed it centrally, it may already be available in Outlook. If not, your admin can provide the installation method or deploy it for your team. See Admin setup.

Open the add-in

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Select an email message or open a draft.
  3. Click Saga from the Outlook ribbon or apps menu.
  4. The Saga task panel opens inside Outlook.
Saga needs an email message or draft to provide context. If no message is selected, Outlook may show the add-in but Saga cannot start a useful conversation.

If Saga is not visible

If the Saga add-in does not appear in Outlook:
  1. Open Apps or Get add-ins from Outlook.
  2. Search for Saga.
  3. If it appears, click Add.
  4. If it does not appear, contact your admin.
Some organizations restrict individual Office add-in installation. In that case, your admin needs to deploy Saga centrally.

Signing in

When you open the add-in for the first time, enter your organization’s Saga instance. For example, if your Saga URL is https://your-firm.sagalegal.io, enter your-firm. Then click Sign in with Microsoft and use the Microsoft work account invited to that Saga workspace. You only need to do this once.

Troubleshooting

The add-in doesn’t appear in Outlook

  • Check with your admin — On company-managed devices, your IT department may need to allow third-party Office add-ins or deploy Saga centrally.
  • Check your Outlook account — Make sure Outlook is signed in with the Microsoft work account you use with Saga.
  • Check your Outlook version — Outdated Outlook builds can have issues loading add-ins. Update Outlook and try again.

Saga asks me to select an email

Saga needs an Outlook email message or draft to provide context. Select an email, then open the add-in again.

Sign-in fails

Confirm that:
  • You entered the correct Saga instance.
  • Your Microsoft account has been invited to that Saga workspace.
  • You are using your work account, not a personal Microsoft account.
If you are still blocked, contact your Saga admin or Saga support.

The add-in panel is blank

  1. Close the Saga task panel and reopen it.
  2. Restart Outlook.
  3. If it still does not load, clear the Office add-in cache using Microsoft’s guidance for your platform.
The Outlook add-in is hosted at outlook.sagalegal.io. If your organization uses a strict firewall or proxy, ask IT to allow access to that domain.
