Roles
Everyone in your Saga workspace has one of these roles: Admin — Full control over the workspace. Admins manage users, configure settings, set up integrations, customize branding, and oversee everything in the admin panel. Typically this is someone in legal ops or IT. Content admin — Manages the content side of things: organizational sources, custom assistants, and shared libraries (prompts, grid review templates, workflows). Content admins can’t manage users, workspace settings, or integrations. This role is designed for people who shape how the firm uses Saga day to day — and organizations often grant it to Saga’s legal engineers so they can help set up and maintain the workspace. Billing Admin — Manages the subscription from Billing in the admin panel. In Solo, the person who buys the subscription gets this role automatically and can update payment methods, download invoices, and invite or remove team members from there. The role can be assigned in other workspaces too, but it only opens Billing, not Users, workspace settings, integrations, or libraries. See Solo. If your subscription can add Moonlit caselaw coverage, a Billing Admin can buy it from Admin panel → Billing. Moonlit seats stay matched to your Saga seat count when you add or remove seats. Removal and other billing rules follow the billing portal terms shown at purchase. User — The standard role. Users can access all of Saga’s features but don’t have access to the admin panel.Workspace settings
Admins configure the workspace defaults that apply across the organization:- Default language — the workspace locale
- Date Format — how dates appear across the workspace (
dd-mm-yyyy,mm-dd-yyyy, oryyyy-mm-dd) - Default assistant — the AI assistant that’s pre-selected for new conversations
- Enabled models — which AI models are available in the assistant selector
- Project types — custom labels for categorizing projects
- Prompt library settings — available languages and custom tagging for prompts
Users
Admins can view everyone in the workspace, change roles, remove users, reactivate deleted accounts, and disable two-factor authentication for users who’ve lost access. You can also export the user list to Excel with usage metrics.Promoting a Content admin to Admin
If a colleague needs to manage workspace settings, integrations, or users — not just shared content — promote them from Content admin to Admin:- Open the Users section of the admin panel.
- Find the colleague in the list and open their row.
- Change the role from Content admin to Admin.
- Save.
Legal sources
Saga integrates with public and subscription legal-research databases. The currently integrated sources include Lovdata, Rettsdata, Moonlit (caselaw search), Rechtspraak.nl, NL fiscale rechtspraak, wetten.overheid.nl, EUR-Lex, Türkiye Mevzuatı, Türkiye İçtihatları, Anayasa Mahkemesi, and DergiPark (Akademik). Public sources are typically available out of the box; subscription sources need credentials your firm holds with the provider. Enablement and credential configuration are handled by your account team — if the source you need isn’t appearing in users’ Legal research dropdown, contact your account team or support@sagalegal.io. Note that subscription sources require an active firm subscription with the provider; Saga doesn’t include the underlying access. For the catalog of caselaw and regulatory coverage available via Moonlit, see moonlit.ai/coverage.Integrations
Admins configure the connections to external tools:- SharePoint — enable and provide your tenant URL
- Epona365 — enable and provide your instance URL
- NetDocuments — enable with your firm’s vendor access key and region
- Dillien — enable so people can import documents from Dillien data rooms
- MCP tools — connect external tools the AI can use in chat
- Translation — enable or disable DeepL translation
Theme and branding
Admins can customize the workspace appearance: upload your firm’s logo and favicon, set an AI avatar, and update the workspace title and description. This makes Saga feel like your own tool rather than a generic platform.Document styling
Admins can configure how Saga-generated Word documents and Excel table downloads look. Use Document styling to set firm-wide export styles or import a.docx or .xlsx reference file.
AI Policy
Admins can upload an AI Policy document for each language. Saga shows that policy as the disclaimer in chat. If a language does not have its own file, Saga uses the policy uploaded for the workspace default language.Data Retention
Admins can set how long Saga keeps chat history, project chats, and grid reviews. Open Data Retention, choose a time frame, and review the Effect Overview before saving. The preview shows how many chats and grid reviews will be deleted for each user. Changes take effect on the date shown in the admin panel. Items older than the selected time frame are deleted after a 24-hour grace period. Select Unlimited if your workspace should not delete chats or grid reviews automatically. Data retention does not delete other project data, such as documents.Organizational sources
Both admins and content admins can create and manage organizational sources — firm-wide knowledge bases that are accessible across all conversations. Upload documents to a source, and the AI can draw on them alongside project-specific context. These are ideal for standard clause libraries, internal guidelines, regulatory handbooks, or any reference material that applies across matters.Libraries
Both admins and content admins manage the shared content that appears in everyone’s Organization tab:- Prompts — organization-wide prompt templates for standardizing common tasks
- Grid review templates — reusable question sets for structured document review
- Workflows — shared automation flows
- Custom assistants — AI assistants configured for specific firm workflows
